Mark Trudeau

Mark Trudeau was appointed Head of Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals in the U.S., on January 1, 2009. Mr. Trudeau has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. In his former role, he headed up the Immunoscience business at BMS. During his 10+ year career at BMS, Mr. Trudeau held senior leadership positions in marketing and commercial operations, including serving as President of the Asia/Pacific Region, President and General Manager, Canada, and General Manager/Managing Director, UK.

Prior to joining BMS, Mr. Trudeau was with Abbott Laboratories for 10 years, serving in a variety of marketing and leadership positions, including leading the companyís Neuroscience and Immunoscience businesses where he worked with Arthur Higgins. Mark began his career in engineering at Eli Lilly & Co and at E.I. Dupont De Nemours, Inc.

Mr. Trudeau was born in Detroit, Michigan and enjoys travel and skiing and is a history buff.

Liz Moench

Liz Moench is the President and founder of MediciGlobal, and has been dedicating her efforts to improving the patient recruitment and retention process in clinical trials worldwide. Prior to founding MediciGlobal, Liz served as corporate Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs of the worldwide corporate management committee of Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Pharmaceuticals managing an international team (now Sanofi-Aventis). Liz has been active in leading industry associations including serving as Advisory Board Member to the Drug Information Association (DIA) and was a Chairperson to the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufactures of America (PhRMA) Public Affairs Section. Liz has received numerous awards including PharmaVoice Top 100 recognition as one of the 100 Most Inspiring People in the Life Sciences Industry in 2005, and the Gold Quill award from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), for a book she co-authored on the use of animals in research.

Dr. Peter Feldschreiber

Dr. Feldschreiber is dually qualified as a barrister and physician. He specialises in medical and healthcare law including medical products liability, pharmaceutical and medical devices regulatory law, clinical negligence and personal injury and medically related employment litigation. His casework includes the Aspirin Reyes Syndrome product liability litigation, the morning after pill litigation, and judicial review and references to the ECJ on pharmaceutical regulatory issues.

Dr. Feldschreiber holds appointments as Senior Medical Assessor and Special Litigation Coordinator to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, Department of health. He is co-author together with Leigh-Ann Mulcahy of the chapter on the regulation of healthcare products in Butterworths Healthcare Law and Practice. Dr Feldschreiber is General Editor of The Law and Regulation of Medicines (published by Oxford University Press).

Dr. Garrett Bergman

Dr. Bergman is the Senior Director of Medical Affairs for CSL Behring, providing scientific and medical support to the $1 billion US commercial operations business unit. Prior to CLS, he spent 13 years as a physician and professor at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and then led the new product development efforts for several new plasma-derivative and recombinant biologics and drugs in large pharmaceutical, biologic and start-up bio-therapeutics companies.

Dr. Bergman has written Investigational New Drug applications, Biological License Applications, and new Drug Applications for FDA submission, leading to approval of three new products. He also serves on the Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee for the National Organization for Rare Disorders. His publication include numerous articles on original research, topical reviews, and textbook chapters. Dr. Bergman received his MD degree from Jefferson Medical College, and an E-MBA from the Fox School of Business and Management at Temple University, both in Philadelphia.

Michael Ryan

Michael Ryan is Chairman of the Executive Impact Group. He has more than 25 years experience in executive management, healthcare consulting and assisting 100+ businesses grow rapidly including several medical device companies. Michael served as a CEO within Ascension Health, the largest not-for-profit health system in the United States, HealthTrust, TransCare and HCA, one of the largest publically traded hospital companies.

Michael is a fellow in the American College of healthcare Executives, a board certified healthcare executive and a former member of the National Board of Regents. He was a founding Board Member of www.ache.org, and its National CEO Committee of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He currently serves on the ACHE Regentís Advisory Council and the California Association of Healthcare Leaders board of directors. He has an MBA from The George Washington University in Washington, DC and BAs in International Relations and Communications from Regis University in Denver.

Mark Herschberg

Mark is a seasoned executive who excels at bridging the divide between business and technology. He has successfully engaged with companies spanning over 10 verticals, including building a marketplace solution for Sears and helping NBC reposition and successfully re-launch its troubled on-line division (now the highly successful Hulu.com).

For the past eight years, Mark has been part of MITís faculty team, responsible for developing and teaching MITís new Undergraduate Practice Opportunities Program (UPOP) providing business training for engineering students focusing on product strategy, conflict resolution, teamwork, communication, requirements gathering, critical decision-making, and leadership. Mark has also responsible for the Harvard Business Schoolís development of financial trading simulation for use in a new class on trading and arbitrage. This J2EE-based distributed system is designed for simultaneous use on multiple campuses as well as for corporate training.

Dr. Sanjeev Thohan

Sanjeev Thohan is a highly motivated laboratory scientist and entrepreneur who has consistently sought new challenges to overcome with each career move. He is a Senior Research Fellow in Preclinical Sciences/Translational Sciences at Novartis in Cambridge, MA. Sanjeevís experience in building functional research units at Covance Laboratories, AstraZeneca, ViroPharma and Exelixis allows him a unique vantage point with which to design and implement discovery-development based activities. He is a recognized subject matter expert for basic research question problem solving, Preclinical Lead Optimization, Non-Clinical Development, PK/PD evaluation and modeling, Bioanalytics as well as all aspects of Preclinical Toxicology (in vitro and in vivo). He holds MS and PhD degrees in Pharmacology and Toxicology. His entrepreneurial activities include founder and COO for the development and successful launch of Tapsmack.com, a collaborative co-creation web platform.
